Sree Krishna Jayanthi – Kerala will be converted into a Ambady today
T’PURAM: Hindus in Kerala are gearing up to celeberate Sreee Krishna Jayanthi today with zest.Elaborate arrangements have made in all Sree Krishna Temples across the state. The Birth day of Lord Krishna is celebrating as Baladinam by Balagokulam and today whole Kerala will be converted to a small Ambady.
More than 10,000 Sobhayatras organised by Balagokulam will adorn the streets of Kerala today , A Million Hindus mostly kids are expected to participate in these Sobhayatras.Special Commitees were formed in each area and the preparations for Sobhayatra were started months earlier.August 28 was observed as Flag day and Go Matha pooja were performed. Vriksha Pooja was performed on August 29.Various cultural events and Family meets were organised across the state by Balagokulam.  Â
The office-bearers of Balagokulam demanded that the Shri Krishna Jayanthi Day should be declared a public holiday for both State and Central Government offices and banks. Even though Sree Krishna Jayanthi has been declared a State holiday, many devotees could not take part in the celebrations since Central Government offices and banks functioned on the day.
The general public of Kerala make the day of Sreekrishna Jayanthi as a day to rejoice and to reflect various facets of activities of Lord Sreekrishna in protecting dharma and instilling confidence to the people around Him and to live and fight for justice. Thousands of children dressed as Sreekrishna and His subjects form part of these colorful processions.
Sreekrishnajayanthi processions in Kerala became a source of inspiration for other states also and this celebration has gained momentum in those places and encouraged to start Balagokulam units there. Even Gulf countries have followed suit in the recent years and enthusiastic parents there celebrate Sreekrishnajayanthi in the most befitting way setting example to others.
Worship of mother cow (Gopooja), Women Empowerment meet, family get-together, competitions in arts and music among children, planting of trees and such other programmes to motivate children and elders in many ways are organized along with Janmashtami celebrations.Â
