Special Team zeroes in on SIMI, NDF
KASARGOD: The Special Investigation Team probing the links of some extremist organisations in the state, has extended its investigations into the district. The probe is centred around SIMI and the NDF.
Several persons having links with extremist organisations have reportedly fled the place and are now hiding in Bangalore and Hyderabad, say Intelligence sources. And their mobile phones are switched off. The SIT is collecting details of those who attended the freedom parade held on August 15 in Mangalore. Several youths from the district had participated in the parade and subsequent rally.
The SIT is also looking into the graffiti hailing Taliban and the Indian Mujahideen, which appeared at Udayavarmada temple, near Manjeswaram. The police have not so far arrested any in this connection.
The activities of the NDF are also under the scanner. The police had earlier arrested seven youths undergoing karate training at Seethangoli.
