Kochi: With Sarita S Nair of the notorious Solar Scam alleging that the testimonial given by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy before the Solar Commission is totally misconstrued, more skeletons have tumbled out. Sarita has alleged that she has met the Chief Minister several times and had given assurance that Biju Radhakrishnan would be saved from any legal hassles related to the case. Following the shocking revelations made by Sarita including statements of her having shielded the Congress leaders for two long years, BJP state president Kummanam Rajashekharan has sought dissolution of the UDF ministry. With more ministerial names tumbling out, Kummanam has stated that the case should be handed over to CBI to ensure that an impartial inquiry is conducted.

According to Sarita a bribe of 40 lakhs was also given to Aryadan Mohammed as well. “It was according to the Chief Minister’s directive that I met Aryadan Mohammed in connection with the bribe. The Chief Minister had promised all aid regarding the solar project. However, the Chief Minister’s middleman Jikkumon made it clear that I would have to shell out 7 crores for the same and that it should be handed over in Delhi,” alleged Sarita.

Sarita said that there were difficulties in carrying such a huge amount by air. “So arrangements are made for cash in Delhi. An amount of one crore and ten lakhs was handed over in Delhi. It was informed in the board of directors that money would be handed over to the Chief Minister. An amount of 80 lakhs was handed over while in Thiruvananthapuram, just two weeks before being arrested,” Sarita is said to have revealed.

It was in 2011 June that the first meeting with the Chief Minister took place, revealed Sarita. “It was Ganesh Kumar’s PA who made arrangements for the meet. Aryadan had sought a kickback of two crores for implementing the project. However, after bargaining it was reduced to one crores, go be given in two installments. As first installment, 25 lakhs was handed over to Aryadan’s PA, though he was also present in the place. The second installment was 15 lakhs which was given at a function,” Sarita is said to have stated before the Commission, adding that she had requested for the money to be returned after being released from prison, which was denied.

Regarding her “interactions” with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Sarita is said to have testified that “she had met him several times” and “interacted with him over phone many number of times”.

However, senior Congress leader Thampanoor Ravi is alleged to have directed Sarita to give a verdict favouring the Chief Minister. “He directed me to go through news papers and study the stand taken by Chief Minister. I was directed to say that I met the Chief Minister twice on stage and once outside. But there is no point in living under the name of a swindler or con woman. It is also impossible to wait any longer to get back the money. Anyone can probe into the discrepancies related to the Solar commission revelations. Any document that goes into being proof can easily be submitted,” Sarita is alleged to have stated.

Alleging that members of the Congress ministry spared no efforts in degrading her and projecting her as a woman of wayward character before society, via television channels, Sarita said she was always the one to be crucified. “They have not given me even a trifling of value. Why am I alone being hounded, that too very selectively? I have shielded these Congress leaders for two long years. That is not possible any more. Regarding all transactions related to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, the middle man has been Jikkumon,” she said adding that she was ready to undergo a lie detection test if required.
