SNDP  Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan has taken a supportive stance on Narendra Modi, the prime ministerial candidate of the BJP. After inaugurating the 31st Sivagiri pilgrimage at the Nagambadom Temple here on Sunday, he said the country would never be ruined if Modi comes to power.

Significantly, Vellappally  took the pro-Modi stance hardly a week after Modi received an unexpected support from Catholicos Baselius MarThoma Paulose II, the head of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. While supporting the stance taken by Government Chief Whip P C George on the BJP and Modi, Vellappally said  the BJP has dropped its Hindutva face. “The BJP, which has received acclamation even from bishops, will emerge as the single largest party in the upcoming LS polls,” he said.
