Ship spotted off Guruvayur beach

GURUVAYUR: A ship, carrying more than 100 personnel, helicopter and speedboats, was found anchored nearly 7 km away from Panchavadi beach, near here, on Friday morning.

According to the information, the ship, which started from Mumbai four days ago, has arrived for the surveillance of the sensitive coastal areas of the state.

The ship might have reached on reports of the Central intelligence agencies of the possible presence of terrorists and the recent smuggling of weapons. The officers of the ship were moving along the coastal areas in speedboats.

Helicopter was also pressed into service.
