Senior Cine Actress Sukumari to inaugurate Protest fasting in Guruvayur

Thrissur: District  BJP unit has planned a fast by women in Guruvayur on June 18 to protest the CPI(M)-led LDF Government’s alleged interference in the affairs of the Guruvayur temple.

BJP district president Sreesan Adiyat told newsmen that about 1,000 women, mostly mothers, would participate in the fast protesting the “atheists’ interference” in the temple customs and traditions.

BJP’s fast is planned a day ahead of DYFI’s Guruvayur Satyagraha demanding entrance of all Religion inside Guruvayur Temple.

 
Adiyat said cine actress Sukumari would inaugurate the fast, which would also be attended by Menaka, an actress of yesteryears.

“The move by CPI(M) and its affiliated organisations to meddle with the affairs of the temples and faith would only harm the social harmony as they had no belief in God,” Adiyat said.
