Security tightened ahead of Modi’s visit

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will reach the state capital this evening to attend the Hindu Maha Mela organized by RSS.

The event is being held in connection with the birth centenary celebrations of the RSS ideologue Guru Golwalkar. BJP state president P K Krishnadas and RSS leaders will receive Modi coming onboard a special flight at 4 pm.

Police have been deployed in most places of the city. The police have intensified patrolling and vehicles were being checked at random for arms and explosives.
