Security stepped up in Sabarimala

Sabarimala: Security and crowd-management systems have been stepped up at Sabarimala in view of the spurt in arrival of pilgrims since the Makaravillaku season of the hill shrine got underway last week. Besides deploying more police personnel atop the Sannidhanam and the foothill of Pampa, metal detectors, barricades and close circuit TVs had been installed at vital points. Surveillance systems along the Uppupara route have been strengthened and more barricades put up along the Chandranandan route. Besides Akhil Bharatiya Ayyappa Seva Sanghom, police personnel are also helping supply drinking water for pilgrims
