Saraswathi Pooja Vandalised by MG College Principal and Kerala Police

Thiruvananthapuram: In a shocking incident, Kerala Police vandalised Sarswathi pooja organised by College Union in MG College Thiruvananthapuram.
The age old tradition of welcoming new students by conducting Sarswathi pooja and offering prasadams were banned by the directions of College Principal, who is a Communist co-traveller.

MG College a strong hold of ABVP was role model for many colleges in terms of Academics and other Extra Curricular activities. The Growth of ABVP infuriated the local Communist leaders who are said to be behind the Principal Madhusoodhanan Nair.

College Principal asked college union leaders to conduct pooja in middle of Road if they want to and threatened them with severe consequences if they won’t obey his rules. When ABVP leaders went ahead with pooja preparations , Principal called Police. Huge Contingent of police reached the campus under Peroorkada CI D Asokan and attacked the students inhumanly. Sarswathi Pooja venue was completely vandalised and arrested the leaders.

Relationship between College Union and Principal were not cordial eversince the Union leaders became a hindrance to corrupted practices of Principal. When ABVP questioned the Principals move to dupe lakhs of Rupees from PTA fund and SC/ST Funds with the help of CPM leaders Principal dismissed 130 Students and debarred them from appearing in Examinations.It was after the intervention of High court and University Students were allowed to appear in Examinations.

The College managed by NSS leadership is now in the hands of vested interests with Communist leanings.There is also move to destroy the reputation of the college by creating controversies.The whole episodfe of Vandalism took place inside the campus , when new students and parents were waiting outside the locked gates.

Protests are mounting from all corners against the desecration of godess of Vidya – Sarswathi.
