Sabarimala income rises

The income at Sabarimala eight days after the re-opening of the temple for the Makaravilakku on Dec 30, stood at Rs9.34 crore, registering an increase of Rs1.70 crore from that of the same period last year.


The number of pilgrims has also increased by 20 per cent this year. During the period from Dec 30 to Jan 08, the number of buses passed by the toll gate was 1,890, cars 13,551, mini vans 7,368. In addition, the KSRTC had operated 1,759 long distance services and 4,456 chain service between Nilakkal and Pampa, according to official sources.
