RSS Veteran G Mahadevan Passed Away

Former Sanghchalak of Thrissur G Mahadevan (84) is no more. The end came in a private hospital in Thrissur. The mortal remains were been placed in Pratap Nivas, the Karyalaya in Thrissur for general public to pay their last tributes. The cremation is being held in the evening by 5.00 pm in the Brahmin crematorium.

G Mahadevan has been a prominent socio- cultural figure from the time he embarked on his journey as a worker of Rashtreeya Swayamsevak Sangh in 1946. He was an entity to reckon with, in public life, having graced many prominent positions in RSS  and other service organizations. The first Jilla Karyavah of RSS Trissur, he had shouldered responsibilities of RSS Prantheeya Sampark Pramukh, state vice president of VHP, General Manager of Janmabhumi, Manager of Vilasam Higher Secondary School etc. Mahadevan was board member of Ollur Vaidyaratnam College.
Mahadevan had also made the sacrifice of undergoing a prison term of 20 months and19 days during the period of Emergency.

Survived by his wife Thailambal, he has four children.
