RSS-CPM clash leaves 14 injured

KOZHIKODE: Fourteen persons were injured in a clash between the RSS and CPM workers at Muchukunnu near Koyilandy in the district on Sunday night.

According to police, tension erupted after CPM workers tried to disturb the activities of an RSS shakha at Muchukunnu, a CPM stronghold.

Seven of the injured have been admitted to the Medical College Hospital here, and the rest to the taluk hospital at Koyilandy.

CPM workers Vijesh, 25, Vijilal, 18, and C.K. Raghavan, 38, and RSS workers Karunan, 42, Narayanan, 55, Balakrishnan, 40, and Jerish, 18, were among those admitted to MCH. Police team led by Koyilandy Circle Inspector C D Sreenivasan is camping at Muchukunnu to prevent further escalation of the violent incidents
