Rift in LDF, UDF will help BJP: Pillai

| Addressing newsmen here on Tuesday, he said that the democratic values of the LDF had given way to the Marxist model. “The LDF in Kerala is now moving into a West Bengal model. This is evident from the candidates’ list of the LDF. | ||
| “The CPI(M) has held majority of the seats putting the constituent parties in a spot This reprisal of the constituent parties of the Left front and that of the Congress and DIC(K) alliance will favour the BJP,” he said. | ||
| Mr Pillai demanded a CBI enquiry into the alleged corruption by the Food, Civil supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Adoor Praksh in the allotment of ration shops. He said that Mr Praksah should resign from the post and face investigation. | ||
| He said that rampant corruption prevailed in the UDF Ministry. The UDF had recorded the highest number of corruption cases involving ministers in the history of the State, he added. | ||
| “The UDF Ministry has looted the people of Kerala. The corruption in the allotment of ration outlets is an example for this. Even after a Congressman like AK Abdul Rahman, who has prominence in Malabar, had complained to Congress top brass about the corruption by Adoor Praksh, no action has been taken. | ||
| “This reveals the involvement of top leaders in the deal,” he said after circulating copies to the reporters of the letter written by Mr Rahman to AK Antony about the corruption. | ||
| Mr Pillai said that huge corruption also existed in the supply of food grains through the civil supplies and ration outlets. “Adulteration has been found by the Vigilance enquiry conducted in the shops. This points to the high amount of corruption existing in the Ministry and the Department,” he said. | ||
| He said that the withdrawal of Yuva Morcha president K Surendran from the Thalassery constituency was based on personal reasons and that the BJP had fielded its top leaders for the Assembly polls. | ||
