Reject Sachar panel recommendations: BJP
PALAKKAD: The LDF Government should reject the recommendations of the Sachar Committee report since the economic conditions of Muslims in Kerala were far superior than members of other communities, according to BJP state president PK Krishnadas.
Addressing mediapersons at the District committee office of the BJP here on Thursday PK Krishnadas said that Muslim parties have been sharing power in Kerala for the last 28 years.
Moreover Muslims run more educational institutions than the members of other communities. Krishnadas said that of the 25 lakh non-resident Indian population in the Gulf, 15 lakhs were Muslims.
The Sachar Committee has not taken into account the income of these people. If the LDF Government implements the recommendations, it will only help create divisions in the society.
Krishnadas said that the speech of CPM politburo member Sitaram Yechuri began with a reference to the Indo-Pak partition in Kozhikode recently and this was only intended to ignite minority sentiments in favour of the party.
Earlier the CPM used to garner votes during elections in the name of Saddam Hussein and Abdul Nazar Madani. This time, it will be the Sachar Committee report since the other two issues will no longer sell.
