The Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) has identified four young men who had been arranging funds for LeT’s South India commander Thadiyantavide Nazeer, now in custody, for extremist operations in Kerala, including recruitment of young men into the terror outfit. According to reports from Delhi, the four men, now based in Dubai, are already under the scanners of the Intelligence agency.

The RAW is in possession of detailed information regarding these four men, who have earned high academic degrees from foreign universities and had got training from Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). It is said that these four young men had been successfully routing funds provided by the LeT in Pakistan to Nazeer through Dubai.

The Intelligence agency has also learned that they were channeling the LeT funds to Nazeer through hawala rackets and certain new generation financial institutions, Reports from Bangalore said that Nazeer himself had told the Karnataka Police during interrogation that he had been receiving money for extremist operations through hawala channels.

RAW has already started efforts to arrest the four young men but it is said that the agency is facing difficulties in this effort as it is not getting the full cooperation of the UAE authorities. However, sources said it was important that the agency got the men in its custody to know more about the extent of LeT operations in India.

The RAW had last year arrested and secretly brought back Oman-based Sarfaraz Nawas, a native of Kerala’s Ernakulam district, who had arranged the funds for the terror attack in Bangalore in 2008, which Nazeer and others had carried out.
