KOZHIKODE: Police, on Wednesday, arrested a 32-year old for allegedly attempting to rape a 14-year-old girl.
Chemmangadu police arrested Kabeer, son of Mammu, residing at the MS Colony near Pallikandi Beach in Kozhikode, for attempting to rape a minor girl, residing near his house.
Police said the girl had told them that the accused had been making similar advances for the last two years.
The girl, however, had not revealed this to her parents as the accused had threatened the girl.
The incident came to notice when Kabeer made a similar attempt during the Ramzan festival.
The girl has been sent to a gynaecologist for medical examination.
