Rape of LKG student; Two Madrassa students under arrest

Nadapuram: Two Madrassa students have been arrested in connection with the rape of a LKG student girl in the Parakkadavu Darul Huda English Medium School. Sources have reported that theaccused are students of the same school and are not minors.

The two accused, Shamsuddhin (18) and Mubasheer (19) were arrested by CI AS Suresh Kumar. They have been remanded by Kozhikode Principal Sessions Court.

The gruesome incident took place on 30 October, in the afternoon. The victim was said to have been unconscious for a long time, following the torture.

A case was registered at Valayam police station by the victim’s relatives. Following this, the Nadapuram CI took over the case. Police had zeroed in one three persons. The final identification was done by the victim in the presence of her parents.

Sources state that a complaint was registered by the victim’s relatives on 7 November. However, school authorities were unwilling to cooperate, with police suspecting a move on the part of school authorities, seeking a compromise.

It has also been learnt that school authrities were planning to falsely implicate Muneer, cleaner of the school bus, in the case. Following registering of the complaint, angry locals staged protests outside the school building. People’s representatives and leaders of political parties arrived at the scene, following which the false complaint against Muneer was withdrawn.
