KOTTAYAM: In a scathing attack on the policies of Left parties, the BJP said the CPI-M was following a policy of “murdering democracy” in West Bengal.

Inaugurating a two-day state BJP council meeting here, the party’s West Bengal general secretary Rahul Sinha said “hundreds” of incidents like Nandigram were taking place in that state. “The Nandigram incident will seal the fate of the CPI-M in the country once and for all,” he said.

Sinha said the CPI-M has become a party for multi-national companies. The party only has a presence in Kerala and West Bengal.

State BJP president P K Krishnadas criticised the Kerala government’s move to celebrate the golden jubilee of the formation of EMS’s ministry. “The celebrations should not be at the expense of the state exchequer,” he said.

He alleged that the debt of the state was now Rs 55,000 crore and that there were 40 lakh unemployed people.
