The Hindu Aikya Vedi has extended wholehearted support to the ongoing protest movement called for by Adivasi Gotra Mahasabha. The recent remonstration held in front of Secretariat by Adivasi Gotra Mahasabha was attended by members of Hind Aikya Vedi, who pledged unending support to the cause of Adivasis.

“The very basis for man’s existence is land. There has to be an end to the ongoing cruelty being shown by the state government to Adivasis, who have no homes and who are forced to spend their lives on streets. The Adivasis have sought redress of grievances like providing compensation, providing land and rehabilitating of those who have been forcibly evicted from Muthanga etc. The respective ministers and government who are trying to sabotage remonstrations headed by CK Janu that is currently being staged in front of the Secretariat, should at least now, try and open their eyes and discern for themselves the plight of the Adivasis,” said ES Biju, state General Secretary of Hindu AIkya Vedi observing that people from every section of society have pledged support to the ongoing remonstrations and that Hindu Aikya Vedi will continue to extend wholehearted support to all forthcoming remonstrations in days to come.

“The Adivasi community does not want sub-committees formed by ministers or a flurry of promises. They want a decent, respectable life. There should be an understanding and recognition that they are humans as well. Changes should happen in accordance with time. Both LDF and UDF governments have swindled and defrauded, without keeping their promises. But that should never repeat,” said Hindu Aikya Vedi leaders, who had arrived there to express staunch support for CK Janu.

The Hindu Aikya Vedi leaders also alleged that government has given free hand to forest lands, revenue land, surplus land to land mafia and mammoth resort mafias, sabotaging sensitive issues like tribal rehabilitation , Chengara package, Land Reform Laws etc. They have sought immediate intervention from the state government, to find an amicable consensus to the Adivasi remonstration.
