Protest against Jayamala

KASARGOD: About thirty activists of the Hindu Aikyavedi and the Hindu Jagaran Samiti prevented Kannada actor Jayamala from inaugurating a children’s drama at Perla near Badiadka on Saturday.

The Kannada actor who came in a car at 3.30 pm to inaugurate the silver jubilee of ‘Thadigina Thom’, a Kannada children’s play at the Bharati Sadan Auditorium was blocked by the Hindu Aikyavedi and the Hindu Jagaran Samiti activists.

They waved black flags and shouted slogans against Jayamala saying that she had entered the Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple.

The protest continued till Jayamala left the place without inaugurating the event.

The inauguration of the event was later postponed by the organisers.
