Prime accused in pistol smuggling case surrenders

KOCHI: The prime accused in the smuggling of air guns and pistols to Kochi from Dubai, A O Koya, surrendered before the customs officials at Guruvayur.

Koya, in whose name the guns were imported, will be interrogated here, customs sources said.

The Special Investigating Team of the police that was constituted after the seizure of 86 air rifles and air pistols had already began investigations and registered a case under the Arms Act.

The arms were brought to Kochi in a furniture consignment from Dubai.
