Priests Smuggling Wine into Central Prison

via HK Correspondent published on April 10, 2007

Thiruvananthapuram:For several years, Central Prison in Poojappura, Thirvananthapuram has become a correctional institution where staff and visitors have been smuggling banned items such as wine, heroine, marijuana, tobacco, cell phones and top-shelf liquor and illegal drugs. Much of the violence in the prisons stem from disputes over distribution of smuggled contraband items, unpaid drug debts or struggles by gangs for control over the lucrative black-market trade in contraband. Prison Officials acknowledged.

Recently senior Prison Officials posted Police Officers to improve security procedures in an effort to disrupt the flow of drugs, alcohol and other contraband into prisons. The new security procedures have irked several powerful contraband smugglers including priests who smuggle wine bottles in the guise of Church services inside the prison.

During the Easter, priests from the Carmel Hills Church turned up at the Central Prison with wine bottles to conduct Easter services at the Prison. Police Officers posted at the prison stopped the priests with hidden wine bottles and denied entry. “Visitors bringing contraband into our facilities will not be tolerated because their actions create an atmosphere that leads to violence and compromises the safety of the staff, prisoners and the public” Prison Superintendent said.

As usual, the priests along with Human Rights Commission member S.Varghese approached the Marxist Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan for approval for bringing wine bottles inside the prison. Prison Superintendent was forced by the Marxist Minister to allow wine bottles into prison. The security procedures are ignored to accommodate the priests and the wine bottles.

It is strange that Human Rights Commission has become a Human Wrong Commission. Rules and regulations are amended and abrogated to accommodate Jihadi terrorists, Marxist and Christian criminals. Human Wrong Commission is not concerned.

The same Human Wrong Commission has nothing to say when Hindu rituals, festivals, and ceremonies are banned under the guise of noise pollution and crowd behavior.

While the general public and senior Prison Officials support stringent visitor rules and security procedures at prisons, the Marxist government is willing to ignore these safety procedures to accommodate powerful Muslim and Christian lobby. Human Wrong Commission goes along with their policy of accommodating Christian, Marxist and Muslim gang.
