President opens Amrita Setu

Kollam: President APJ Abdul Kalam opened the Amrita Setu, a bridge across the TS Canal connecting the tsunami-hit Alapppad panchayat and Vallikkavu in Kollam district. The bridge was constructed by the Mata Amritanandamayi Math. Amritanadamayi said that the bridge connected not just land strips, but minds. Fisheries Minister S Sarma, Food and Civil Supplies Minister C Divakaran also participated in the function organised for the dedication of the bridge to the people.
