Poor quality raw materials for Aravana preparation

via HK published on November 7, 2007

Thiruvananthapuram:Complaints against Raidco Industries are gaining momentum for supplying sub-standard products for Aravana manufacture during last season. At this point it is important to note that, the same company has been again awarded the contract for the supply of jaggery this year also.

Last year this company was granted the contract for supplying dry-rice,dry grapes and kalkand (rock sugar) which are essential for preparing Aravana.Instead of dry-rice,they supplied low quality raw rice which was objected by the then special officer Sri.Jayakumar.Accordingly,he officially informed Devaswom store managerabout the bad quality of supplied items. However the corrupt board office in Tvm issued order to use the rejected material for preparing Lord’s prasadam. As what can be expected from an unholy alliance between AKG centre and the TDB,Jayakumar was threatened to quit his service as special officer, in their attempt to save Raidco.

According to regulations, products used in the manufacture of Aravana are to be certified by Food inspectors before TDB accepts to it’s stock. But these norms were breached in the case of Raidco last year.Previous contractor M/s Panchami pack was black-listed for hindering the manufacture of Aravana.Ironically,Raidco who amassed crores by ditching millions of Ayyappa devotees,is scot free by the fraudulent marxist regime of Kerala. Moreover, there are speculations already about the quality of products which will be offered by Raidco for this season.
