Aluva: Swami Prakashananda, president of Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust has condemned the heinous humiliation of Sree Narayana Gurudevan and has called for stringent chastisement of those who are guilty of the misdeed. Gurudevan had become the subject of Marxist ridicule when they took out tableau depicting Gurudevan with a noose around his neck and being crucified thereafter. The defense of the matter by Marxist leaders like Pinarayi Vijayan was most shocking, he said.

Referring to the venerated seer as “one who shaped the destiny of Kerala”, Swami Prakashananda said, “Gurudevan was some one who called for world peace and harmony by carving out a path of comprehensive humanity. But it is most despicable to think that he has been depicted as handicapped and bereft of sanity. This is neither not freedom of speech nor reformation of thought. It shows extreme dearth of perception and is an apparent challenge of our cultural values.”

Pointing out how Marxist leaders like Pinarayi Vijayan stooped to blindly justify the deeds of his fellow men, Swamiji said, “Even as scorn and derision was heaped and protests against the same issued galore, (Marxist) leaders like Pinarayi Vijayan stand strongly to justify this. This is what compels people like us to respond. Gurudevan is hailed as “world leader of humanity” while they stand on Sivagiri podiums. But outside it is nothing but contempt and derision.”

Reiterating that even though Sivagiri Madhom has always kept away from the matter of Kerala politics, Swamiji said that “such denigrating issues will force us to expose the dirty politics behind the same.”
