Terming CPI (M) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan’s bid to woo the Muslim vote-bank as dangerous, BJP Kerala unit president PS Sreedharan Pillai flayed the Marxists for having truck with the Muslim ‘fundamentalist’ organisations like the NDF

In a press release issued here, the BJP leader flayed the CPI (M) secretary’s recent move to support the campaign for the release of PDP chairman Abdul Naser Madani from the Coimbatore prison.

“The drive to grab power at any cost is forcing the Marxists to ignore national security. (Mr) Vijayan’s attempts to forge hidden alliance with Muslim fundamentalist organisations like the NDF, PDP, Jamaet-E- Islami Hind, etc would endanger India’s security,” alleged Mr Pillai.

Terming the CPI (M) secretary’s recent allegation that BJP and RSS had political understanding with the Congress as cock-and-bull story, Mr Pillai said such blatant lies were meant for capturing the minority votes.

“(Mr) Vijayan should be given award for his lies. He is so obsessed with power that he is adopting all ways and means to attain it at any cost,” the BJP president said

He criticised the CPI (M) secretary’s silence over the recent seizure of huge quantities of gelatin sticks and explosive from across Kerala and the Intelligence reports on the NDF’s role in explosive smuggling. “His silence is astonishing. We want to know his reaction to the reports from the Intelligence agencies and the Army on the terrorist links of certain groups in Kerala. He is opting the Congress ways to woo the minorities to grab power,” he said.

“Mr Vijayan is criticising the State Government for the breakdown of the law and order machinery. But he is silent on the role of the NDF and PDP in the Beypore blasts and Kalamassery bus-burning. It is with his consent that the CPI(M) is offering help to the convicts of Marad riots,” the BJP president added.
