Pinarayi – Jyoti Basu contradict each other

The usual facial touch-up given by his personal make –up man could not cover the aggressive and uncouth looks of Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday afternoon. The CPM state secretary who met the press in the imposing AKG Centre on Friday afternoon blasted the media for playing up the internal differences in his party. His body language resembled that of a culprit who was caught red handed during a criminal act. Vijayan ridiculed a section of the media for publishing anti-CPM news. “There is no differences of opinion in CPM. The selection of candidates for the ensuing Assembly elections were done unanimously by the party leadership,” Vijayan told the reporters. Most of the journalists including this reporter are afraid to ask counter questions to Pinarayi Vijayan because of the army of goondas under his control are capable of doing anything to silence us. While Vijayan was addressing the press conference at the ground floor of the AKG Centre, M A Baby and Thomas Issac, the two chieftains who guide and direct the Party Secretary what to speak and what not to speak were sitting in their air conditioned  cabins  watching the proceedings which were telecast live by the party channel Kairali. Both had smiles on their face.

While asked about the dumping of V S Achuthanandan from the Assembly poll scene, Vijayan resorted to his usual gimmicks and diverted the attention of the journalists to some other issues. It is reported that Baby and Issac had tutored him well on Friday how to address the media about the problems in the party. It is well known that what Vijayan is coached by the Christain Brothers who are leading him by the nose. 
Meanwhile VS kept away from the glare of the media. He has been told by Prakash Karat , the CPM Secretary, not to speak to the press till the Polit Bureau meeting gets over on Tuesday. Each and every word spoken by Pinarayi Vijayan were filled with insults directed against Achuthanadan.
