PS Sreedharan Pillai, who recently resigned as BJP Kerala State president in the wake of his party’s poor performance in the Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha by-election, said on Wednesday that he had decided to withdraw his resignation as directed by the party high command.

“BJP’s general secretary in charge of Kerala, L Ganesh, who met the party office-bearers, including all 14 district presidents, had informed me that most of them wanted me to withdraw the resignation and the party high command had also directed me to continue in the post,” he told reporters here.

Mr Pillai is expected to make a formal announcement after a meeting with Mr Ganesh on Thursday.
