The CPI(M) and the LDF Government had convened a peace meeting after it has achieved the goals the party had targeted ,local people claims .A Congress leader from Thalassery who is attending the fast of the leader of the Opposition Oomen Chandy while speaking to The Pioneer said “The CPI-M got what it wanted .There were open threats against the RSS leader Sumesh and the RSS state leader Suresh Babu by the CPI-M leaders .Sumesh is still critical and even if he survives he has lost his left hand and is maimed for life.”

He adds “More than this the CPI (M) local leaders were privately talking on five killings as four CPI (M) men were killed recently and the killing of Jijesh in odiyeri is a matter of debate and there are doubts among the political circles here that the Kannur SP Manoj Abraham was transferred as he was in the process of nabbing the actual culprits”.

Thalassery is still not peaceful and even after the tall talks of the CPI(M) leaders and the statement of the RSS leaders that they would not join in peace talks with the CPI(M) Kannur district leaders have to be seriously taken up. Also the RSS state leader Suresh Babu who had met the Home Minister on Sunday as part of the delegation was facing threat for his life and had escaped from an attack some years back .

A senior leader of the RSS while speaking to The Pioneer said “Each and every one of us wants peace but the CPI (M) and the LDF Government have entered into peace meeting only after three or four days and where was the State Home Minister and the Chief Minister .This shows that these are preplanned murders executed according to a script and the peace of the CPI(M) is one which should not be believed .But we trust in democracy and Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has talked to the RSS leadership as part of a democratic government and we respect the decision but the psychologically it will take long time to heal the wounds”.

In the recent clashes seven people lost their lives and several people are maimed for life including RSS leader Sumesh who is an autorikshaw driver and has lost his left hand in a lethal attack .

Doctors attending him are of the opinion that he is still in a critical condition as there are deep wounds in his head ,neck and face .

The present bout of incidents started when Sumesh who is the Thalassery taluk leader of the RSS was attacked on Shivaratri day when he was coming out of a local restaurant after having lunch. Eyewitnesses told The Pioneer that more than seven people were involved in the attack and that he had survived only by luck .
