Parameswarji honoured with ‘Dharm Raksha’ puraskar.

Thiruvananthapuram: Bharathiya Vicharakendram director and president of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Padma Sri P. Parmeshwaran popularly known as Parmeshwarji, said that Attukal temple is the most possible and appropriate  place  that would turn into ‘Dharmasthal of Kerala’. He was addressing a meeting organised by ‘Vaibhav India Charitable Trust’ to honour him with their first ‘Dharm Raksha’ puraskar.


 


Dharmasthal in Karnataka is famous for its charity and social work. It stands as a uniting centre for various Hindu schools of thoughts for decades. He added Attukal temple could regain Travancore’s name as ‘Dharma Rajya’.


 


While presenting the puraskar (award) Director of the trust Padmabooshan Dr. Veerendra Hedge said it’s a great honour and Attukal Devi’s blessings to bestow Parmeshwarji with this award. He said Parmeshwarji has spent his life and whole hearted efforts to spread the glory of Sanadhana Darma. His efforts has awakened modern Hindu youths and taught them to be proud about their culture and motherland.


 


When western thoughts and life styles are deteriorating women’s status in India and exploiting them as a marketing commodity, Hindu religious festival like ‘Attukal Pongala’ in Kerala helps to foster the respect and value we gave to women in Hinduism, commented Dr. Hedge. He also elucidate the similarity and close relationship of Kerala and Karnataka.


 


T.P Srinivasan, ex-American Ambassador was the chair for the meeting. Swami Abhayananda Theerdapadar, Dr. M. Sambashivan, S. Janardhanan Potti, M. Gopal and G Shekaran Nair gave their speech on this occasion.


 


Various religious and social leaders including K.U Devadas (Bharathiya Vicharakendram), Prof. N. Gopikuttan (Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh), Girija Nair (Gita Swadhaya Samathi), Punjakkari Surendran (Hindu Nadar Samajam), Advocate G.S Prakash (Karmachari Sangh), R. Kumaran Nair (V.H.P), M.G.S Mani (Bharathiya Vikas Parishath), Mohandas Pai (Gauda Saraswath Bhraman Association), K.A Aji Kumar (Bharathiya Heritage Trust) was present in the meeting.
