Hindu Aikya Vedi state general secretary Kummanam Rajashekharan has flayed the UDF government for being a representative of those who lavishly swindle public wealth. Lashing out at Chief Minister Oommen Chandy for having graciously handed over government land, forest reserves and even the ocean to those of ‘minority’ community, Kummanam said that 75% of what belongs to all now lies in the hands of minority community.Highlighting how the Oommen Chandy government refused to hold any discussion with Hindu organizations to redress grievances of the Hindu society, he said pointed out how they held as many as 15 meetings with members of Christian- Muslim organizations to rectify issues faced by them.

Inaugurating the four day protest meet in front of the Secretariat organized by Hindu Aikya Vedi seeking justice, equal rights and opportunity for Hindus along with recognition of Hindu rigts document, Kummanam reiterated that Kerala’s emancipation will take place only through the united forging of Hindus. “The charter has a set of 169 points which was submitted to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy three years ago- all this while he has shown the least of inclination to have a discussion with Hindu organizations regarding the matter. It has detailed every single problem faced by Hindu society. But then, it should be remembered that the government showed maximum interest in conducting as many as 15 meetings with Christian and Muslim organizations to iron out any of the issues faced by them,” he said.

Exposing how the state governments hitherto had freely distributed and set aside exclusively things like land, job opportunities, service schemes and benifits towards those of the so called minority communities, Kummanam said, “Government land, forest area and even the ocean have been written off for the benefit of those who fall under the so called minority community. And because of the undue appeasement, almost 75% of natural reserves no lies under their control”.

Highlighting out how various political forums have chosen to turn the socially-educationally-financially shattered Hindu into verge of suicide, Kummanam said that the liberation of Kerala will happen once there is Hindu unity. “The Hindu society must unite, without taking into consideration any political disparity. There are thousands of acres of land which unlawfully acquired. And there is this government which takes no step to retrieve the land lost by temples and yet takes all measures to grant encumbrance certificate to every bit of land encroached into by minority based organizations, which includes even temple land. It is the Devaswom Board which should look into these matters. But the state government has its sway over them too and hence the stoic silence maintained by them. There is silence over the increasing temple robberies and attacks unleashed over temples. How did temple lands become revenue lands? The government simply refuses to come to terms with Court directives regarding those numerous cases that in the legal path?” he thundered.

Pointing out the plight of the Hindus, who now stand forsaken in areas of business, trade, education, agriculture or any other profession, are in a mode of struggle for survival, Kummanam said, “This includes those who belong to the scheduled castes, tribes and others belonging to backward communities; those who are poverty stricken, landless and misplaced in society. The government has deliberately forsaken those people falling under scheduled castes and scheduled tribes by disowning concessions and rights legally due to them. As much as 500 crore rupees have been lapsed this way and are being spent in other areas. Those who have been bereft of land, homes and job are suffering because they happen to be Hindus.”

Warning the government that if the issues highlighted in the charter are not given due consideration, Kummanam said that the state will witness stringent remonstrations.
