Old Wine in New Bottles: Marxists’ attempt to Remodel their Obsolete ‘Human Chain’ fails

With all those gimmicks aimed at forthcoming elections of self governing bodies and state assembly failing miserably and falling short in garnering allies, the Marxists’ Kannur lobby has suffered a mammoth setback. They could not rope in the RSP or Veerendra Kumar’s Janata Dal (U). The drama staged in getting back JSS leader Gowriamma, obviously with ulterior motives, became one of the Marxist party’s biggest flop shows. Making things more pitiable for the Marxists is the distance being maintained by SNDP. Thus with the bag of tricks exhausted, the LDF is left with the support of a section of CMP and Forward Bloc and such parties which hardly have any support. The only bright spot for Marxists happens to be the CPI.

Still, not seeming to be giving up, the Red Brigade is now shrieking for the rights of minorities, which probably is why G Sudhakaran seems to be warbling about “never disowning their claim seeking rights for minorities not withstanding any resistance”. This could be the reason why they intend bringing old wine in new bottles and garbing their archaic and obsolete ‘human chain’, remodeling it as ‘Sitting Strike’. The aim is clear- masking all the rotten failures and gross misdeeds and giving a makeover of standing for human rights.

But did that ever have even the smattering of an impact on society? Marxists must ponder deeply
