PATHANAMTHITTA: NSS general secretary P K Narayana Panicker has said that the NSS will move the court seeking protection of temple customs and practices in the wake of the “wilful attack’’ on Hindu beliefs and practices.

Inaugurating the platinum jubilee celebrations of Konni Aruvappalam 301st NSS karayogam and unveiling the statue of Mannathu Padmanabhan at a function held at the karayogam hall near Konni on Sunday, Panicker said that the attacks against the NSS and its leadership were unleashed by those people who have a grudge against the strength of the organisation.

Panicker said these kinds of gimmicks could not in any way harm the NSS or its leadership.

The NSS has decided to give maximum encouragement for the setting up of more self-help groups by the karayogams. Those who approach for help in forming such micro credit units would be given proper advice and adequate expertise, Panicker said.

While formulating new education system, the government should make policies in a such way that the new generation would get maximum benefit, Panicker said.

Aruppalam karayogam president M R Rajan presided over the function.

NSS treasurer P N Narendranathan Nair honoured the veteran karayogam office-bearers.

C N Somanathan Nair, N K Appukuattan Nair, Kadakkal Prakash, Vikraman Nair, Sanathakumari and Suhakumari spoke.
