Thiruvananthapuram:After paying respect to a local goonda leader who was murdered in gang war by erecting a bus waiting shed, CPM now plans to commemorate him by organising an all India Karate tournament.

The Sensei Vishnu Memorial All- India Open Karate Tournament will be held at Jimmy George Indoor Stadium in the city on next Saturday and Sunday in memory over the death of a goonda leader. According to the police report, Vishnu was allegedly close to goonda leaders Ambalamukku Krishnakumar, Karate Suresh and Vanchiyoor Hariprasad.Hariprasad, who is a CPM Vanchiyoor local committee member and is believed to be close to Omprakash and Puthenpalam Rajesh, was arrested on August 31 this year by the police at Vanchiyoor under the anti-goonda Act.

It was during last election time a Bus waiting shed was erected in Kaithamukku encroaching public property.Ironically the Bus waiting shed was erected in a place where there is no bus route. As expected that bus waiting shed is now the hub of local CPM thugs. Vishnu who was an active CPM activist was involved in various murder cases and was slained by the members of rival gang infront of Thiruvananthapuram passport office in 2008.

This Karate tournament in the name of this thug is being organised at a time when state is witnessing increased goonda attacks across the state.
