Delhi: The state government of Kerala has crossed all limits in belittling Hindu culture by deliberately doing away with the role of the doyen of Kerala’s ressurgent movement Sree Narayana Gurudevan. A documentary screening the role of Kerala’s prominent social heroes, intended to be shown outside the state, has the role of the great seer completely omitted. Sources have stated that Gurudevan’s name has deliberately been removed from the list following political directives issued from the government.

The state government has taken measures to screen documentaries outside the state, showcasing the roles of social and renaissance heroes in shaping the destiny of God’s own country. This is being organized in various cultural festivals, in connection with the birthday of Kerala state.

According to the State Information and Public Relation Department, “the first screening is being done in Delhi, the national capital where the roles of Vayalar, Chattampi Swamikal, Ayyankali, PN Panicker, Sahodaran Ayyappan, SK Pottekad, Vaikom Mohammed Basheer etc will be glorified in various documentaries.” However, the role of Gurudevan was rudely left out.

Other resurgent leaders who have been left out are Kumaran Asan, the first secretary of SNDP Yogam. Replacing the Hindu leaders is Communist hero Vayalar.
