TALIPARAMBA: BJP national vice- president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has said that the soft approach towards terrorists adopted by the UPA Government at the Centre and the CPM was responsible for a series of mindless acts of violence and explosions perpetrated by hard-core terrorists in the country.

Inaugurating the death anniversary of Yuva Morcha leader K T Jayakrishnan which is being observed as Balidan Dinam by the Morcha, the BJP leader said that when Pakistan sought evidence of its involvement in the blasts engineered by terrorists, the Government of India had nothing to offer because of its soft stand on terrorism in the country.

Naqvi said that according to his party, there was no difference between Afsal Guru, the accused in the Parliament attack case who was sentenced to death, and those facing the gallows in the K T Jayakrishnan murder case.

He said the murder of Jayakrishnan was a challenge to peace and nationalism. He called upon the CPM to change its anti-democratic and fascist face.

K Surendran, former state president of the Yuva Morcha, P K Velayudhan, district president of the BJP, O K Vasu Master, and district president of BJYM Prabhakaran Kadannappally spoke.

A procession was held earlier as part of the anniversary. Floral tributes were offered at the Smruthi Mantapam of Jayakrishnan on Friday morning.

BJP leaders K. Velayudhan, O K Vasu, N Haridasan, P Sathyaprakash, and RSS leaders A C Gopalankutty, A Chandran, Suresh Babu, and K Renjith participated in the function.
