NDF game plan: IUML to move CM

KOZHIKODE: The Vatakara municipal committee of the IUML will organise a campaign to resist the NDF moves to get a foothold here, inciting communal violence.

IUML municipal area general secretary Abdulla Manappurath said the IUML has brought the activities of the NDF before the police many a time. ‘‘For reasons best known to them, the Vatakara police never initiated any action in this regard. We will submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister and the Home Minister demanding steps to monitor the activities of the NDF,’’ he said.

The IUML convened a meeting of all Muslim organisations the other day to resist the moves by the NDF. ‘‘All outfits except the Jama’at-e-Islami took part in the meeting which resolved that the activities of the extremist organisation need to be checked in the area,’’ Abdulla said.

The IUML has enlisted the support of the Imams of the mosques in their campaign against the NDF. ‘‘We have formed an action committee in which all the Muslim organisations are members. The executive committee will meet on Friday to discuss the future course of action,’’ he said
