“Narendra Modi offered all help; Kerala government, NORKA irresponsible”: Sivagiri pilgrim group

published on June 27, 2013

Alleging that the state government of Kerala was utterly negligent in rescuing the pilgrim group from Siviagiri, the seers who reached Delhi said that it was the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi who was in touch with them, offering all assistance in rescuing them.

Flaying the government machinery and NORKA, the pilgrim group said that inspite of all assurances given, nothing ever materialized. “The Chief Minister himself came over the phone with great difficulty. The NORKA group was also indifferent. Infact we had to face extreme rude behaviour from them,” they alleged.

“Infact it was the Gujarat government that was constantly following our whereabouts. Chief Minister Narendra Modi himself was in touch with us personally, assuring us all help, if we consented. Even state BJP president V Muralidharan was constantly keeping in touch, offering us support over phone. However, is n’t it the state government’s duty to look into our safety?” lashed out the pilgrim group.

“If we bring out certain glaring truths, it will turn out to be the most bitter experience for the state government. We however refrain from that,” said Swami Guruprasadananda.
