Mysterious death of three girls from Konni; Parents of Victims seek CBI Inquiry
Kochi: The parents of the victims of the notorious Konni triple murder case have sought CBI inquiry into the matter. Submitting a request before the High Court of Kerala, the parents spoke about the laxity of state police who have not yet been able to make substantial headway in the case. The parents along with relatives, had staged a hunger strike before Konni police station registering their protest against unsatisfactory police inquiry.
“Even though senior police officers did visit the homes of victims, the state police have not yet made any substantial progress in the case. There was no move even after the hunger strike,” say the report.
The victims Athira, Raji and Arya, all students of Government HSS, Konni were reported to be missing from the first week of July. After three days, the dead bodies of two girls were found on the railways track. The investigation team has not yet been able to report the exact reasons for the death of the three girls, inspite of post mortem reports confirming that death was caused by a steep fall.
