Murder of CPM Gunda-Move to blame RSS ;To Please Minister’s Son
Vishnu murder: Police trying to put blame on RSS
Pioneer News Service | Thiruvananthapuram
The police, still groping in the dark over the broad daylight murder of the youth with mafia connections Vishnu, are trying to put the blame of the killing on the RSS. The RSS top leadership however said that it has no hand in the killing.
Â
Vishnu who was involved in several mafia operations was lynched in front of the busy regional passport office at Kaithamukku on the last Monday. He was working as an aide to his brother who is a travel agent.
Â
The CPI(M) conducted a condolence meeting on the evening of the murder with the city Mayor Jayan Babu and other CPI(M) leaders participating in the function. The party leaders also tried to portray Vishnu as an active party worker while he was only a member of the Vanchiyoor branch committee of the party.
Â
The police are now trying to give selective leaks to certain selected mediapersons that Vishnu was involved in the hurling of bombs at the RSS headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram some days before the murder and is cleverly trying to divert the attention on the RSS.
Â
The dreaded mafia don Omprakash who is moving freely is still not in the goonda list which was displayed with much fanfare by the Thiruvananthapuram police and there are reports that Vishnu was directly in touch with him and that he had fallen away from him recently.
Â
Omprakash is considered to be close to the son of a powerful Minister in the State Cabinet and this is the reason why the CPI(M) and the Home Department is protecting him.
Â
There were reports that Omprakash was operating from safe dens outside the State and that he is even now taking quotations for the majority of actions in the State capital.
Â
Sources in the police told The Pioneer that in Thiruvananthapuram area the CPI(M) is using the services of trained professional killers to attack the political rivals. There are reports that Omprakash is getting the protection owing to the fact that he is one of the most trusted operators of the party when it needed most. The close connection with the Minister’s son is considered as the link he has with the CPI(M) in the district.
Â
Sources also confirmed that there are several high level officers in the State police who does not want Omprakash to be in prison under the goonda act and that this is the reason why he is roaming free. The police officers also confirmed that he and the Minister’s son was actively seen in the Kovalam area during the new year celebrations recently but firm orders from outside has prevented any action on the part of the police.
Â
The role played by Attingal Ayyappan was also probed in the earlier days of the investigation but slowly the police is shifting the focus of attention to the RSS and thus allowing the real culprits to move away from the long arms of the law.
Â
The Police has told certain select mediapersons that it has detained some culprits who had a role to play in the murder of Vishnu and that some of them was actively working with the RSS in their earlier days. Political observers told The Pioneer that this was a move on the part of the police to shift the point of investigation and to please the CPI(M) leadership which is slowly in the process of developing a well organised network in several parts of the State for creating terror in the minds of the people.
