Muraleedharan brays at RSS
KOCHI: K. Muraleedharan, president of a political group, continued his braying at RSS. Speaking to media persons here in connection with his fund collection Yatra from Kasaragod to Thiruvanamthapuram, the elder son of former Chief Minister K Karunakaran announced that BJP leaders are welcome to join his political outfit if they denounce Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
But Muraleedharan, who was described as mentally retarded by none other than MP Gangadharan, a close family associate, did not show the boldness to declare that his party does not require the RSS votes. Muraleedharan, whose ministerial ambitions were thwarted by the sensible voters of Vadakkancherry in 2004, is hoping against hope that the CPM, his new masters, would make him a minister after the 2006 assembly elections. Karunakaran’s heir apparent is on a fund collection drive, ostensibly to finance the party candidates in the election. Muraleedharan is known to have asked Raj Mohan Unnithan, a close aide during his Congress days, for Rs 2.5 million for the Kollam Lok Sabha seat during the 2004 election. It was Unnithan who spilled the beans by revealing to the outside world the evil machinations of Muraleedharan.
Muraleedharan, who used to see red at the mention of the name CPM, has become a regular visitor to AKG Centre at the state capital. It is quite common to see the former KPCC president waiting in the reception counter for the arrival of CPM bigwigs like Pinarayi Vijayan and M.A Baby.
