Move to sabotage Sabarimala Pilgrimage; Hindu leaders to meet PM

Sabarimala Hindu leaders urged Union Government to enact a new legislation to delink Sabarimala , the Holy abode of Lord Ayyappa from Periyar Tiger Reserve. Hindu leaders will meet Prime Minister to make the appeal

There is a move to regulate the inflow of devotees to Sabarimala on the basis of a report submitted by National Tiger Conservation Authority
Devotees from different parts of the country and abroad visit Sabarimala every year not as a Tourist destination. The whole concept of Sabarimala pilgrimage itself a form of worshipping nature, Told Kummanam Rajasekharan.

Hindus request is only to release 25 Sq Km of land from Periyar Tiger Reserve which is more than 1000 Sq Km of forest. Alternative Government’s in Kerala ruled by both fronts are reluctant to give 500 Crores of Rupees to implement Masterplan for Sabarimala aiming to provide basic amenities to lakhs of devotees coming to Sabarimala.
