Security had been tightened in and around the temple in view of his visit since yesterday.

On his arrival at the temple town last night, the BJP leader was received by Devaswom Administration Officer V Ratheesan and senior temple officials.

He was presented with a multi-colour picture of Lord Guruvayurappan, the presiding deity of the ancient shrine.
