Massive raids in Hawala capital

Kozhikode: In massive raids in the Hawala capital of Kerala, Police recovered important documents revealing crores of Hawala transaction.


 


Raids were conducted in Vilyapalli, Koduvalli and Thamarassery in Kozhikode district. Raids were conducted in the houses of 13 Jihadi financial terrorists.    


 


Arms and Rifles were also recovered from the house of Hawala Kingpin Poker from Villyapalli along with documents.


 


Indian Muslim League leader Karat Razak’s home were also raided and Police recovered important documents on Hawala transaction.


 


Raid was conducted under the leadership of Malappuram SP P. Vijayan. The Home Ministry gave permission to the raid after repeated warnings from Central and State intelligence.


Another important development regarding this case is the terror angle to it and the invisible presence of the country’s most wanted criminal Dawood Ibrahim’s reported hands behind these rackets.

Central intelligence agencies have also tipped the State Police that even the arrest of two persons from Chavakkad in the recent seizure of counterfeit currency notes from Hyderabad just after the blasts should not be taken lightly.

The State special branch has also revealed that two top cops of the State Police of the rank above Inspector General having covert or overt contacts with these groups mainly hawala operators.
