Massive Haul of Powerful Explosives from Marxist Citadel

Panoor (Kanur): A massive haul of bombs and other explosives have been unearthed from a building near the local committee office of Pathipalam. The bombs are said to have been seized from an old building which formerly functioned as Pratibha College, adjacent to the Marxist local committee office. The confiscation was made by police following a tip off.

Sources have reported that 12 varieties of bombs have been seized, including 2 soda bottle bombs, 4 steel bombs, 4 local bombs. It is said that the bombs were stored in buckets. Apart from bombs, ample quantity of gun powder, stored in containers, have also been seized.

The area is stated to be a Marxist citadel. It has also been alleged that mass collection of arms and ammunition has been taking place in areas like Mokeri under the leadership of the Pathipalam Marxist leader who happens to be an accused in the murder of KT Jayakrishnan Master. It has been reported that the building from where the ammunition has been seized is one of the regular collection haunts, along with local DYFI office, AV Das Mandiram, CPM office etc. The seized ammunition has been diffused by police. A case has been registered by local police.
