Marxist Goons Pelt Stones inside Temple; Kodungallur Tense

During one of their parades, Marxist goons showed audacity in pelting stones inside the premises of the famed Sree Kurumba Bhagavathy temple. In the mele that followed, two devotees sustained injuries. With situation going out of control, police had to fire gunshots to disperse the goons. Protesting against the incident, various Hindu organizations along with the BJP have called for a hartal on Friday.

“The incident took place at 6.00 pm when the red brigade was observing the death anniversary of one of their party members. The goons began pelting stones from the northern entrance of the temple. Soon, members of the local BJP tried to stop them, when the Marxist goons resorted to violence. Soon the DYFI. activists tried to barge into the temple premises, which escalated the troubled atmosphere. This led to arrival of a large contingent of police, of around 100 personnel and subsequent firing in mid-air,” said eye witnesses.
