Marad issue getting serious

KOZHIKODE: The Marad issue is getting serious after the CBI informed that they cannot conduct a partial investigation. Meantime, recovery of bombs and weapons from Marad has created a tense situation here. The BJP had showed their discontent soon after the CBI director had stated that they would not probe the case.


The BJP stated that the IUML had scuttled the proposed CBI probe since the Marad commission had found that League’s workers were also involved in the incidents relating to the massacre.
The BJP Kozhikode district panel will stage a dharna on February 14 demanding a CBI investigation. The dharna will be inaugurated by BJP national working committee member C K Padmanabhan.


An appeal has been filed by Peoples’ Forum For Natural Justice in Palakkad and Palakkad Nalleppilli native R Gokul Prasad in the Kerala High Court for a CBI investigation in the Marad case.

The complaint have asked to shift former crime branch IG Mahesh Kumar Singla from service and then conduct the probe and also asked to take legal steps against former police commissioner Sanjeev Patjoshi, former district collect T O Sooraj and former assistant commissioner Abdul Rahim.
