Mamootty eyes on Rajya Sabha seat

Mammooty tries to get a Rajya Sabha (RS) berth after failing to get an Assembly entry to his brother through Muslim League. It is nomination without any political fight that he is keen to have.

 He does not rely on IUML for this, but CPM. He was a cine artist who used to express allergy towards party politics. He even went to the extent of telling that his elevation to the Chairmanship of party channel had nothing to do with party politics. CPM beleives that party channel could increase its influence in filmdom and gulf region with the help of Mammootty.

So RS seat is going to be a reward. As part of this, the background exercise for this operation that he was seen during the inaugural function of DYFI all Indian conclave. He got the applause for denouncing Gujarath Govt. as per the script written by CPM. Since it is central govt. that exercises the authority to nomination to RS, Mammooty won’t face any problem since Congress is also with CPM in this regard

It is to be remembered that Mammootty’s younger brother Ibrahimkutty had tried to get a IUML ticket during the last Assembly election. But a section of the IUML leaders hesitated to repeat the “Wahab model payment seat”.
