Kochi: Love Jihad? Oh…that is just another of those concoctions by Sangh Parivar! Not many now have this version. Following the gruesome death of Anuja, a student of Maharajas College, Ernakulam in a recent instance of Love Jihad, Hindu society no pauses to contemplate on the dangers lurking round the corner. The mortal wound and fear it has created in the minds of Hindu families stand manifold. The number of phone calls pouring in to Hindu Helpline stand testimony to this. As many as 49 cases have been registered in the last two weeks, a plea for help coming in mainly from guardians- a sure sign that society is indeed waking up to this new form of terror being unleashed in by Jihadists, to break Hindu society.

Out of the 49 cases reported, Wayanad stands in the forefront with 8 cases. The rest are as follows- 2 from Kasargode, 5 from Kannur, 4 from Kozhikode, 2 from Malappuram, 4 from Trissur, 6 from Ernakulam, 2 from Alappuzha, 5 from Kollam, 3 from Kottayam, 3 from Idukki and 3 from Thiruvananthapuram. Solitary cases have been reported from Udupi and Mangalore as well. Out of these, 6 cases have resulted in marriage, where parents and guardians have been alerted only after the wedding. Some of the cases have reported confiscation of the girls’ gold, cash and other jewellery. Two cases are said to be live in relationships. Among these, 7 minor girls are also victims. Girls of the Scheduled castes, hailing from Idukki and married women with children are victims as well.

Reports state that Popular Front Activists are behind the scene, when it comes to actively baiting Hindu girls in the name of romance and sex. The modus operandi is clear- Jihadist Romeos woo girls with the promise that they need not convert to Islam. However, as the romance progresses and indulgence of sex, the Romeos threaten them of deserting if they do not convert religiously.

It has been said that three girls have been converted in Green Valley Manjeri, the religious conversion centre of PFI. Amongst the incidents reported were a teacher and a couple of students, which reveals the force with which colleges and educational institutions are being targeted. This also confirms Intelligence reports of Islamic women’s groups aiding the Jihadists’ cause.

Hindu Helpline stands dedicated to the cause of rescuing these victims and resuscitating them to lead a new life with members of the Hindu community. Any details of Love Jihad if chanced upon can be conveyed to 9497545511. “State government should be willing to conduct a probe into the matter. And the earlier society realizes that this is not love but terrorism, the better,” said Aneesh Balakrishnan, state coordinator of Hindu Helpline.
