Rahim was talking to newsmen after meeting Rafeeq, an accused belonging to Puthiyanagadi, in the prison. Rafeeq had written a letter to Rahim about a move by certain people to influence the accused who had planned to request for a fresh probe into the case.

“Rafeeq told me about the League leaders who sent emissaries to the prison to influence the accused. They are certain responsible functionaries of the Kozhikode district committee of the League. That is all I can say,” said Rahim
